Course Outline for the ICPAM Online Course

Module 1- Overview of Access Control:

Explains the basics of access control.  Reviewing such items as door locks, readers, and controllers.  It further explains how these items, along with the ICPAM software, work together to create a system of access control.


Module 2- Hardware and Server:

A review of the controllers and input/output devices, and how they are connected to the ICPAM server.  A brief introduction to the ICPAM software is also covered.


Module3- Software Overview:

A general review of the ICPAM software, including how hardware is attached and recognized by ICPAM as well as how to interpret Events and Alarms.


Module 4- Events and Alarms:

Events and Alarms are covered in-depth.  A review of the Reports available in ICPAM is also covered.


Module 5- Schedules and Credentials:

A general review on the creation of schedules, policies, and credentials.


Module 6- Privileges and Permissions:

Reviews assigning roles or “polices” in ICPAM.  Differences in Administrator and Operator roles is also covered.


Module 7- Hints and Ideas:

A collections of tips related to ICPAM and its functions.


Module8- ICPAM Installation:

An in-depth review on how to install ICPAM.  Included are ICPAM requirements, VMware, network settings, and configuring the server and software to recognize controllers.


Module9- ICPAM Enrollment:

A thorough review of all the steps required to set up ICPAM for the enrollment process.

Items covered include: Creating Schedules and Access Policies, Credential Templates (including the creation of “virtual” credential templates), creating New Users, and Assigning Credentials.
